Maries County Gazette, Wed, June 27, 1990: Martha O. Blackwell, 91, was born in Maries County on Oct 14, 1898, a daughter of Frank and Mary Ellen Bull Minzes and died in her home on Monday, June 18, 1990. She was united in Marriage to Mark Blackwell on Nov 17, 1914 and unto this union five children were born. He preceded her in death on Jan 31, 1959. She is survived by two daughters, Nola Robertson of Vienna, and Geraldine Doyle of Marshville; one son, Russell and his wife, Lucille Blackwell of Lebanon; daughter-in-law, Myrtle Blackwell of Jefferson City; nine grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, an infant and Clarence, one granddaughter, Rosemarie, four brothers, Johnny, Benny, Henry and Willie nd three sisters, America Smith, Nellie Robertson, and Gertie Nelson. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dixon. Funeral Services were held in the Long Funeral Home in Dixon the following Wednesday with Pastor Ed Hamilton officiating. Organist was Opal Shepperd and burial was in the Kenner Cemetery. Serviving as pallbearers were Edward Robertson, Wayne Robertson, Dale Blackwell, Lawrence Blackwell, Lonnie Blackwell and Joe Jackson. Honorary pallbearers were Tommy and Stanley Nelson.
