Geraldine Doyel, of Springfield, formerly of Maries County, was born April 27, 1926, at Hayden, a daughter of Mark and Martha Overy (Minzes) Blackwell, and departed this life Saturday, April 24, 2021, in the James River Care Center, Springfield. She had attained the age of 94 years, 11 months, and 27 days.

Mrs. Doyel was united in marriage on September 28, 1944, at Vienna, to Floyd Nelson Doyel, and to this union, three daughters were born.

Earlier in life, she attended Kenner Church of God, Hayden, and after moving to Marshfield in 1965, Mrs. Doyel became a member of the United Methodist Church. During her working life, she was employed with Wayne Metal Company, Dixon and Marshfield, for twenty-five years until her retirement on May 23, 1999. Mrs. Doyel enjoyed embroidery work, quilting, sewing, and being with her family, especially her grandchildren. Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Doyel include: Her daughters, Carol Walker (Kenneth), Springfield; and Pamela Wailand (Russell), Winder, Georgia; grandchildren, Kevin McVay (friend Jennifer), Springfield; Christopher McVay (friend Stacy), state of Colorado; and Kysha Hewitt (friend Eric), Rock Island, Illinois; and Kasie Hewitt and Katy Hewitt, both of Winder, Georgia; great-grandchildren, Blake and Elizabeth; one brother, Russell Blackwell (Lucille), Jonesboro, Arkansas; and other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Doyel was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd (7-11-1987); an infant daughter, Rose Marie Doyel (in 1952); one brother, Clarence Blackwell (8-5-1988); and her one sister, Nola Robertson (6-17-2013).

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Geraldine Doyel will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Tuesday , May 11, 2021, in the Kenner Cemetery, 17996 Maries Road 505, Dixon, Missouri 65459, with Rev. Dale Blackwell, Victory General Baptist Church, Jonesboro, Arkansas officiating, under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna.
Interment will follow the service in Kenner Cemetery with Kevin McVay, Kenneth Walker, Wayne Robertson, Rusty Robertson, Bobby Copeland, Dale Copeland, and Sean McVay serving as honorary pallbearers for Mrs. Doyel. Memorials are suggested to the Kenner Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund with envelopes available at the graveside service or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 250, Vienna, Missouri 65582.
