Inez was the youngest of 8 children born to New York farmers Richard "Derrick" Porter and Jane Shepard. She married Morris Joseph Nash in 1887. They had two children, Porter and Florence. Sometime after 1900 they moved to the state of Washington. Her husband was a justice of the peace in Kelso Washington. Their son, Porter, died in 1918 while in the service at Camp Lewis, Washington. Inez died in 1939 after a short illness of a few hours.
