Mrs Millie Falen, who has lived in the Lindsborg community most of her life, died at 5:43 pm Sep 22, 1955 at the Lindsborg Hospital following a short illness.
Mrs Falen was born on Oct 26, 1873, at Vollrop, Denmark, daughter of Severin and Christina Jensen. She came to the U.S. with her parents when she was nine years old and settled in the Lindsborg area. She was married to Frank Falen on May 6, 1892, and when he died on Dec 22, 1945, she moved into Lindsborg where she has lived ever since. Mrs. Falen was a member of the Mission Covenant Church.
Survivors include five daughters, Mrs Ethel Jacobson and Mrs Eleanor Gottschalk, both of Lindsborg; Mrs Veola Prather, Caldwell; Mrs Verna Griggs, Nevada, MO; and Mrs Ruth Tucker, Medicine Lodge; four sons, Francis Falen, Great Bend; Leroy Falen, Topeka; Raymond Falen, Stafford, and Malcolm Falen, Lindsborg; 14 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs Jennie Brandt, Denver; Mrs Edith Smith (half-sister), Forest Hill, CA, and Mrs Hilma Orberg (half-sister), Shelbyville, IL; one brother, Arthur Jensen (half-brother), Wichita.
Funeral services had the Rev. Oskar Molinder officiating.
