Anna received a diploma from Ogden Training School in Ogden, Utah in 1892 and returned to Northville to teach in the local grade school.
In 1895 Anna quite teaching and married Bennett Luther Dean at her family home on Wing Street in Northville. Anna and Ben set up housekeeping in Detroit where Ben began work as a mail-carrier. Anna and Ben had the following children:

Bennett Joy Dean
Laurence Clare Dean
Helen 'Louise' Dean Terry Frederiksen
a stillborn baby
June Evelyn Dean McCoy.
Anna's husband Ben died in 1928 and Anna moved to California, settling in San Gabriel/Alhambra where she bought a house at 1500 South Stoneman Ave.
