Ila Mae Platt was the second child of William E. Platt and Blanche Celora Murdy Platt. She died as a child during an epidemic of spinal mengitis in the Gila Valley. Her mother Blanche was pregnant with Bonnie Belle when she lost her two little girls. They both died during the same week. They were not allowed to have funerals due to the fear of sickness spreading. So they were both buried on the same day with the family being the only morners allowed to attend. I can't imagine how hard this was for Blanche. These two girls were much loved by their parents and older brother Will Jr..
