Robert was born in CA. but moved to Arizona as a young boy when his mother married Dr. William E. Platt.He went to Thatcher schools graduating from Thatcher High. He and his mother joined the LDS church in 1923.
He met and married Maxine Layton in 1937 making their home in the Gila Valley. They had no children but helped their nieces and nephews. In World War II he joined the Navy and served honorably. He was proud of his Navy time. Bob had some heart problems and many surgeries, but it was cancer that took his life.
