He was born in Lancaster County, a son of Pinkney Andrew and Lucy Baker Plyler, and was the father of Howard Pinky Plyler of Lancaster. Survivors include his son and three sisters, Mrs. Clefa Aycothe, Mrs. Lucille McAteer and Mrs. Martha Sistare of Lancaster.
