Lancaster - Alvis Hulon "Ab" Plyler, 69, died Friday in a Lancaster Hospital. Born in Lancaster County, he was a son of the late Andrew Pinkney and Lucy Baker Plyler.
He was a deputy sheriff and a Lancaster City policeman for several years.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Aliene Haigler Plyler; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Duncan of Pageland and Mrs. Betty Chambers of Columbia; three sisters, Mrs. Clefa Aycothe, Mrs. Lucille McAteer and Mrs. Martha May Sistare; four brothers, Bill, Earl, Harry, and P.A. Plyler of Lancaster.
