Carrie Lucille Plyler McAteer, 96, of Lancaster, was the last surviving child to the late Pinkney A. Plyler and Mary Lucy Baker Plyler. She was predeceased by her husband, John D. McAteer; her son, Robert "Bobby" McAteer; nine brothers and sisters.
A long time member of First United Methodist Church in Lancaster, Lucille was an assistant in a children's Sunday School Class and involved in many church activities. She was devoted to her family, friends and her home. Lucille was an exceptional cook, seamstress and gardener. If you were visiting at a meal time, you were always invited to stay and eat. She shared her love for plants to anyone that showed an interest in gardening.
Interment in Lancaster Memorial Park.
