JOHN L. RUMOLD
John L. Rumold, 84, of Metairie, LA, husband of the former Helen Egley of Hermann, died Friday, September 20, 1991, at Santa Clara, California.
Mr. Rumold was born in Kansas and had lived in Metairiefor 42 years. He was employed by Fairbanks Morse Company, and ws a pioneer in bringing air conditioning to the New Orleans area in 1940. In 1949, he founded J.L. Rumold & Co., Inc. He was a member of several contractors and air conditioning organizations. Mr. Rumold and his wife, who survives at Kenner, LA, were annual visitors to the Hermann Maifest.
A brother, William F. Rumold, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services and entombment took place at metairie, Friday, September 27.

John Lawrence Rumold, a Retired Mechanical Contractor, died Friday at ElCamino Hospital In Santa Clara, Calif. He was 84. Mr. Rumold was born in Kansas and lived in Metairie for 42 Years. He was employed By Fairbanks Morse Co. and was a pioneer in bringing air conditioning to the New Orleans area in 1940.
In 1949, he founded J.L. Rumold & Co. Inc. He also was President of the New Orleans Chapter of the Mechanical Contractors Association of America. He was a Member of the Plumbers And Steamfitters Local No. 68 Pension Fund, The Jefferson Parish Examining Board for Plumbers and The Jefferson Parish Air Conditioner Board.
Survivors include his wife, Helen E. Rumold, and a brother, William F. Rumold.
A Funeral Service will be held Friday At 2 P.M. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. Burial will be in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
