William F. Rumold
William F. Rumold, 90, of Phillipsburg, NJ, died on Tuesday, August 30, 2005 in VNA of St Luke's Hospice, Bethlehem.
Born: On November 27, 1914 in Abilene, Kansas, he was the son of the late Ferdinand J. and Olive Pitts Rumold.
Personal: His wife, the former Helen M. Caton, died in 1990. He entered the military in 1933, serving in the Army during World War II in both the European and Pacific Theatres. He served in Korea and retired from the Army in 1963 as a Lieutenant Colonel.
He worked in the Turbo Division at Ingersoll-Rand in Phillipsburg from 1964 until retiring in 1979.
Memberships: William was a longtime member of Harkers Hollow Golf Club in Harmony Township, for over 35 years. He was also a member of Toastmaster's International.
Survivors: He is survived by three sons, William L. of San Jose Ca., Edward of the Netherlands, Gerald S. of Hopewell Junction, NY; his significant companion, Dr. Anastasia Fry of Bethlehem, Pa; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services: Funeral services will be held on Friday at 6:30 p.m. in the Finegan Funeral Home, 302 Heckman Street, Phillipsburg, NJ. Calling hours will be on Friday from 4 to 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will take place at a later time in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
