George was a farmer and logger for timber with his father.

On September 23rd, 1891 in Franklin Township, Butler Co., PA he married Susan Malverna "Verna" Albaugh. They had 3 girls and 2 boys who were named Ariel, Margarett, Charles, Everett and Grace.

She was the daughter of Elias Robert Albaugh and Margaret (Stanford) Albaugh. Her older sister Matida married her husband's younger brother Samuel.

About 1920 George became a "Traveling Bible Salesman" across Western Pennsylvania. He would often stay overnight with Lee Ross & Susie Critchlow at the McKee place on his travels.
