Felton Hawthorne Scott, Jr. was born November 2, 1945, to Felton Hawthorne Scott, Sr. and Suevilla "O.V." Roberts Scott in DeKalb, Kemper County, MS.

During his youth, he joined St. Mark United Methodist Church in DeKalb, MS.

He was a 1964 graduate of Whisenton High School in DeKalb, MS. After graduation, he attended Prentiss Institute in Prentiss, MS.

He enlisted and served in the United States Marines for four years as an aviation technician. While serving in the Marines, he also served on a tour of duty in Vietnam.

He worked for several years in Cleveland, OH, and then moved back to DeKalb, MS. He furthered his studies at Mississippi State University in Starkville, MS. He later retired at the Meridian Naval Air Station in Meridian, MS.

He died April 4, 1997, at the age of 51.

He was the Son of Felton Hawthorne Scott, Sr. and Suevilla "O.V." Roberts Scott, the Brother of Lizzie Jean Scott, Mel Viola Scott, Jimmie Scott, Mervis Scott, Joann Scott Alexander, Shirley Ann Scott Houston, and Stanley Theodis "Stan" Scott; the Paternal Grandson of James Scott and Jessie Jack Scott; and the Maternal Grandson of Leroy Roberts and Lizzie Rush Roberts.
