She married Alvin Alexander who is also a native of DeKalb, Kemper County, MS. She was the mother of three children, two sons and one daughter.
She moved back to DeKalb, Kemper County, MS, and lived there for several years before relocating to Cedar Rapids, Linn County, IA, in 2008, where she was living at her death.
She died November 25, 2012, at the age of 64.
