DERBY NEWS

Died, last Friday, June 23, after a lingering illness of about nine months duration of appendicitis, Miss Lucy F. Throckmorton, aged 33 years, 10 months and 24 days, at the home of her parents near Derby, being on the farm where she was born.

The deceased was converted to Christianity when a child during the tabernacle meeting held in Derby in 1875 by Elder J. W. Todd.

Deceased leaves behind a father, mother, seven brothers, two sisters and numerous friends to mourn her departure.

The funeral service was held in the M. E. church, of which she was a member. Rev. J. N. Hosier preached the funeral sermon, after which the remains were taken to the Derby cemetery for burial. One of the largest assemblies of people that ever gathered on such an occasion followed the remains to their last resting place.

To the bereaved we offer our deepest sympathy in the first bereavement in the family. Having gone before, she awaits the coming of the others left behind.
