F. L. THROCKMORTON

Word has been received here of the death of Francis Lazear Throckmorton, of Derby, Iowa, on Sunday, October 29. Mr. Throckkmorton, a son of John and Nancy Lazear Throckmorton, deceased, was born in Waynesburg,Pa., November 19, 1850. With his parents he removed to Iowa and was educated at Garden Grove. He taught for several years in the Lucas county schools and was associated with his father in the mercantile business. He was united in marriage with Miss Martha Burns, of Wind Ridge, in 1878. Her death occurred in 1911. Mr. Throckmorton married for his second wife, Mrs. Anna Askern, who survives him. Two sons, John B. and Ralph Throckmorton, of Derby, Iowa survive; also five brothers, Dr. Thomas M. Throckmorton, Chariton, Iowa; Dr. Charles Throckmorton, St. Louis, Mo.; Dr. Frederick Throckmorton, Des Moines, Iowa, Rev. John and Sherman Throckmorton, Derby; and two sisters, Mrs. Nancy Brewer, of Missouri, and Mrs. Sarah Morris, of Derby.
