Rena Burns was married to George Martin Hower on January 21, 1911. Together they had four chilren, Eugene, LeRoy, Donald and Daisy. (All of whom have since passed away.)

MRS. RENA M. (Widow of George) University Park Care Center. Mrs. Hower, age 89, died Saturday evening at Sherman Oaks Care Center. Rena was born in Canada. She came to the Muskegon Area at the age of 5 years. The former Rena Mary Burns, she had married George Hower in 1911. He passed away in 1952. Also, a son Donald, preceeded her in death in 1973. SURVIVORS 2 sons, Eugene Hower (Now deceased) (Rose) of Twin Lakes and LeRoy Hower (deceased Dec.5, 1993) (Alida) of Muskegon, a daughter Mrs. William (Daisy Hower-Hill) Knollinger (deceased Sept 16,2009) of Whitehall, a daughter-in-law Mrs. Thelma Koster (Now deceased) of Muskegon, 15 Grandchildren, 32 Great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren, a brother Orie Burns of Reed City, and a sister Mrs. Daisy King of Muskegon Hts. The services were held Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock at the Clock Chapel with the Rev. Donald LeMaire (Now deceased) officiating. Interment will be in Restlawn Cemetery.
