Andrew Burns died at his home in Cedar Creek township yesterday afternoon after an illness of two years, aged 68 years. Mr. Burns was born in Canada and came to the United States 28 years ago, locating at Ludington where he lived a year. A quarter of a century ago Mr. Burns came to Muskegon and remained here for seven years, having been employed at the Munroe Mill. Later he moved to a farm in Cedar Creek township which has been his home since. He was a member of the St. Jean's Baptiste church and of the C. M.B.A. of that church. Besides his widow, Mr. Burns leaves six sons, Dolphus of Lakewood, Joe, Patrick, and Luke of Cedar Creek, and Robert and Walter of Muskegon; and three daughters, Mrs. Edward Cavanaugh of Muskegon, Mrs. George Hower of Battle Creek, and Miss Daisy Burns at home. Thirteen grandchildren also survive him.

The funeral of Andrew Burns was held at 10 o'clock yesterday morning at the St. Jean's Baptiste church. Rev. Fr. John G. Sanson, the priest of that church, conducted the services. Burial was in St. Mary's Catholic cemetery

Gravesite Details

Cemetery records lost in 1945 fire. Records of wife, Anna, survive with notation that there was no marker. Cemetery personnel (2021) consider it probable that he was buried beside her and also had no marker. A family plot marker was placed in 2022.
