Blanche R. Blubaugh [Mount Savage]

MOUNT SAVAGE - Blanche Rachel Blubaugh, 93, of Mount Savage, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2007, at the Beverly Living Center, Cumberland.

Born June 22, 1914, in Huntingdon County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles J. Williams and Lula Ray (Rankin) Williams-Merbaugh. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Blubaugh; one grandson, Patrick Wayne Shimko; two sons, William J. Blu-baugh and Robert Blubaugh; one daughter, Sharon Blu-baugh. Blanche was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Mrs. Blubaugh was formerly employed with the Celanese Fibers Corporation.

She was a member of Saint George's Episcopal Church, Mount Savage, and the Women of Saint George's.

Mrs. Blubaugh is survived by three daughters, Eleanor Doolan and husband Harold, Dansville, Donna Shimko and husband Pat, Mount Savage, and Doris Cook and husband Gary, Ellerslie; two sons, Joseph Blubaugh Jr. and wife Nora, Cumberland, and Eugene Blubaugh and wife Cathy, Hyndman, Pa.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Elizabeth Webster and Pastor Ted Marsh officiating.

Interment will be in the Eckhart Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Allen Cook, Jeff Shimko, Joe Shimko, Steve Cook, Eugene Blubaugh Jr. and Travis Emerick.
