Robert W. Blubaugh (Melbourne)

MELBOURNE, Fla. - Robert W. Blubaugh, 56, of Melbourne, formerly of Mount Savage, died at his home on Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007. To those who loved and knew him best he went by the names "Blu" or "Bobby."

Born Feb. 7, 1951, he was the son of the late Joseph A. Blubaugh and Blanch R. Blubaugh, of the Beverly Living Center, formerly of Mount Savage; one Brother, William "Billy" Blubaugh; and a special nephew, Wayne Shimko, preceded him in death.

Bobby is survived by his daughter, Stacey Warner, husband, Bryan, and their children, of Cumberland; his daughter, Sarah Blubaugh, and partner, TJ Morgan, and son, Kamden, of Barton; daughters, Charlie, Rachel, and son, Robert Jr., all currently residing in Oregon, along with the two special children in his life, Paul and Jessica; his sisters, Donna, and husband, Pat, of Mount Savage, Eleanor Dolan, and husband, Harold, of Rawlings, W.Va., Doris Cook, and husband, Gary, of Ellerslie; brothers, Eugene Blubaugh, and wife, Kathy, of Hyndman, Pa., and "Jr." Blubaugh, and wife, Nora, of Cumberland.

Bobby had many, many beloved nieces, nephews, and grandchildren, all of whom, though may not remember him, he loved and cared for deeply.

Born, raised and graduated from Mount Savage High School in 1969, he enlisted in the United States Navy. He later left Western Maryland in search of bigger, better things, (and warmer weather) and found himself in Texas where he became a carpenter by trade. "Blu" loved the outdoors and was never able to stay in the cold climate long and yearned for the sun so he finally put his roots down in Melbourne, where he met and lived out the rest of his days with his partner and love, Margie Morelli.

Those of us that knew him best will remember his laughter and charismatic ways and his ability to beat even the best in a game of pool. His love of life will be treasured by all who knew and loved him.

He treasured books and debating the things he believed in, were a passion of his that he, undeniably, passed onto his children.

So, for all of those who remember "Blu" raise your glass to him or say your prayer and cheer a man who lived hard, worked hard, and loved till the day he died.

Services will be conducted for his family and friends on Friday, March 30, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Maryland State Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap.
