CUMBERLAND - Joseph Aldon Blubaugh Jr., 74, of Cumberland, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008, at WMHS-Braddock Campus.

Born July 13, 1934, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late Joseph Aldon Blubaugh Sr., and Blanche (Williams) Blubaugh.

A United States Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Blubaugh retired from the Iron Workers Local 568. He was a life-member of the Fort Cumberland Post 13 American Legion, the Henry Hart Post 1411 V.F.W., and the Cumberland Outdoor Club. Joe was also a member of the Piney Mountain Sportsman's Club.

Joe is survived by his wife of 48 years, Nora I. Blubaugh; his daughters, Tammy L. Rotruck and her fiancé Jay Grap, of Baltimore, and Terry H. Honess and her significant other Jimmy Mowll, of Eastern Shore; his son, Steve Gibson and his wife Donna, of Baltimore; his brother, Eugene Blubaugh and his wife Cathy, of Hyndman, Pa.; his sisters, Eleanor Doolan and her husband Harold, of McCoole, Donna Shimko and her husband Pat, of Mount Savage, and Doris Cook and her husband Gary, of Ellerslie; a special grandson, who was reared by Joe and his wife, Scott Blubaugh; and his granddaughters, Cassandra Rotruck and Amanda Rotruck, both of Cumberland.

Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Ted Marsh officiating.

Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Post 13 Veterans Honor Guard.

Interment will be at the Maryland State Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap.

The family requests that memorials be made to the family at 430 Pine Place, Cumberland, MD 21502.
