George Brown Died Friday
Funeral services for George Edward Brown were held at the Santiago Methodist church, at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 13th. The services were conducted by Rev. G. T. Qualley.
George Edward Brown was born on December 18, 1885 on a farm in Story County, Iowa. His parents who have since passed on to their reward were James Willington Brown and Margaret Zook Brown. George was united in marriage to Ada Leonard to which union Wesley Brown, who now resides in Texas, was born. Ada passed away while Wesley was yet a young boy. Later Mr. Brown was united in marriage to Alesa Scott Brown.
Mr. Brown with his wife and family united with the Santiago Methodist church on Easter morning in 1930. He was a long time resident of this community, spending most of his life on a farm near Santiago moving to Mitchellville upon his retirement where he resided until his death. He died at the Lutheran hospital at 8:30 a.m. Friday, February 10, 1956. Surviving Mr. Brown are his son Wesley, his wife, four step-children Charles Zook, Marion E. Zook, Mrs. Adela McKeever and William Zook. Also surviving him are 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, a brother and three sisters.
