Mr. Ben West passed away Tuesday morning, Dec. 30, 1975. Mr. West was born March 14, 1889, in Augusta, Ill., son of Edwin and Alice West and had been a resident of Kalamazoo for the past 28 years. He was a member of the Comstock United Methodist Church and Masonic Lodge. Prior to his retirement, he was a teacher, serving in the Michigan and Illinois School Systems for 40 years. On August 12, 1912, he was united in marriage to Clara E. Younge, who survives. Also surviving are one son, B. Clair West of Kalamazoo; 3 grandchildren, Mrs. Peter (Suzann) Hames of Norwalk, Conn., Mrs. Don (Sara) Loveless of Sterling Heights, Mich., David L. West of Coldwater; 4 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held Friday morning at 11 0'clock at the Langeland Chapel, 622 S. Burdick, Rev. David Charter officiating. Internment in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel beginning 12 noon Wednesday.
