The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home in Joliet, with visitation from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Joliet.
Mr. Shadwell was born February 13, 1922 in Effingham, the son of Rufus and Lonnie Shadwell.
He had been a resident of Joliet for the past 30 years, and was employed at Uniroyal for 22 years.
Surviving are his wife, Edith (Blades) Shadwell of Joliet; a son Herbert L. Shadwell; a brother Cecile of Effingham; three sisters, Dorothy Lewis of Watson, Violet Jannone of
West Frankfort and Sarah Sullivan of Ewing, and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters.
