Lorene was born in Ocala, Kentucky on June 3rd, 1934, daughter of the late Joseph H. Prows and Martha Susan Lee Prows. She was a homemaker and a member of Woodstock Baptist Church.
Lorene was survived by one son, Barry (and Pat) Head of Somerset, Kentucky; two daughters, Kimberly Kathryn (and Jeff) Goodin of Somerset, Kentucky and Lois (and Randy) Mathis of Eubank, kentucky; one sister, Christine Wilburn of Somerset, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Darion (and Rachael) Ping, Dionne Mathis (and Zack) Banks, Jeremy Goodin and Kristina Goodin; two great-grandchildren, Joseph Ping and Dexter Banks; and a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie E. "Bill" Head, whom she married on December 19, 1949 and who departed this life on October 28, 1997, her parents, Joseph Prows, who departed this life on November 1st, 1960 and Martha Susan Prows, who departed this life on May 7th, 1939; four brothers, Lucian Prows, Clarence Prows, Robert Prows, and Lindsey Prows; and six sisters, Bonnie Diamond, Daisy Hargis, Merdell Burnett, Dorothy Martin, Louetta Head, and Cathern Jones.
Visitations were held after 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 10th, 2009 at the Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in Science Hill, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11th, 2009 in the Chapel of the Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Griffin and Bro. David Tomilson officiating.
Burial followed in the Woodstock Cemetery in Somerset, Kentucky.
