Bridgeport Messenger-July 18,1974-"Final rites for Laura Jane Middleton were held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Cates Street Church of Christ. Interment was in East Bridgeport cemetery. She was born February 5, 1884 in Birmingham, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband John R. Middleton, in 1962. She is survived by two daughers, Juanita Miller of Breckenridge, Katie Sachs of Cullman, Alabama; three sons, Roy Palmer of Amarillo, J.R.. Middleton, Jr of Fort Worth, and E. B. Middleton of Fort Worth; 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren."
