Susan Anna Irene Roberts was the 4th child of Charles Middleton Breaker Roberts and Agnes Jane Hale Roberts. In 1895, Susan moved with her family to Alvin, Brazoria County, Texas. The family lived and worked in Alvin and in Galveston. Susan married Douglas Daniel Shaw in Galveston, Galveston County, Texas, on February 28, 1898. They had 8 children, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Susan and Douglas took care of her parents in their later years. Susan died at age 77 and is buried in the Confederate Cemetery in Alvin, Texas. There is no gravestone, but she is with Douglas and several of her children in the Shaw family plot which is marked with a lovely oak tree.
