MRS. KEITHLEY OF LA PLATA DIES AT 74
---Mrs. Clarence Keithley, age 74, of LaPlata, died at five o'clock yesterday morning in a Columbia rest home following an illness of two months. Mrs. Keithley's death came exactly one year and five hours following that of her husband who died on Nov. 8, 1964.
---Funeral services will be held at one o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the South Gifford church conducted by the Rev. Clyde McCollum. Burial will be in LaPlata cemetery. Bearers will be Mrs. Keithley's grandson, Robert Wayne, Dennis Charles, Johnny Paul, William Clarence and David Lee Keithley and her nephew, Richard Carder. The body will be at the McCollum Funeral Home in South Gifford until 12 noon Wednesday when it will be taken to the church. The casket will be open until the funeral hour when it will be closed and not reopened.
---Mrs. Keithley, the former Bertha Tucker, was born in Macon county on July 19, 1891, the daughter of Harlan and Eva (Buck) Tucker. She was married to Clarence Keithley on Nov. 1, 1911. The last of eight children, Mrs. Keithley was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters in addition to her husband.
---Surviving are two sons, Paul Keithley, of Columbia, and Wayne Keithley, of Independence; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
---Mrs. Keithley was a member of the South Gifford Christian church.
