---Luella Maud Tucker, daughter of L.H. and Mary Tucker, was born at Athens, Ohio on October 29, 1877 and died at her home near Callao, Missouri on December 8, 1950 at the age of seventy-three years, one month and nine days.
---She was married to John E. Smith on June 16, 1898 and to this union two children, one son and one daughter, were born.
---She professed faith in Christ as her personal Savior and united with the old Chariton Grove Baptist Church west of La Plata (now disbanded) in 1892, moving her membership to the La Plata Baptist Church in 1926 where it remained until her death.
---She was preceded in death by her mother, father, husband, two brothers and one sister.
---She leaves to mourn her passing, her son, Virgil, with whom she made her home; her daughter, Mrs. Dominic (Opal) Oberto of Jacksonville, Missouri; two brothers, J. M. Tucker of Gifford, Missouri and Earl Tucker of Novelty, Missouri; two sisters, Mrs. Clarence (Bertha) Keithley and Mrs. Ida Wood, both of La Plata; fourteen grandchildren, one of whom, Marvin Smith, is now serving with the Armed Forces in Korea.
---Funeral services were held at Skinner Funeral Home in Macon, Missouri Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Kenneth Hoggard, pastor of Atlanta and Mr. Salem Baptist churches. Interment was in Bevier cemetery.
