Died Monday, May 24, 1976, at 9:30 a.m. at Baton Rouge General Hospital. He was 90, a native of Livingston Parish and a resident of Walker. Body at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. Religious services at Judson Baptist Church, Walker, at 4 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by Rev. Charles Arnold. Burial in Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery. Survived by five daughters, Mrs. Eddie ( Gertrude ) Ward, Mrs. John ( Juanita ) Dear, both of Baton Rouge, Mrs. Rodrick ( Winnie ) Courtney, Mrs. Emile ( Tennie ) Arnold, both of Walker, Mrs. Eli ( Bonnie ) Noble, Greenwell Springs; three sons, Willard Davis, Denham Springs, Scoffield Davis, Baton Rouge, Herbert Davis, Baker; one sister, Mrs. Addie Hatchell, Denham Springs; two brothers, Eugene Davis, Walker, Simeon Davis, Denham Springs; 32 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Gustavia Blount Davis; one son, Lee Davis; one daughter, Mrs. Stella Cook. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
