Juanita Davis Dear died at 12:01 a.m. Monday, Sept. 16, 2002, at her residence in Walker. She was 78 and a native of Walker. Visitation was at Hollabaugh Spindle Funeral Home, Monday. Religious services were at the funeral home chapel, Tuesday. Interment was in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. She is survived by her husband, John W. Dear Sr. of Walker; two daughters, Elaine and husband John Whittington, Walker, and Deborah and husband Stanley M. Lucas, Livingston; a son, John Dear Jr. of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Winnie Courtney of Walker and Bonnie Noble of Central; two brothers, Herbert Davis of Baker and Scoffield Davis of Baton Rouge; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Gustavia Davis; two brothers, three sisters and a granddaughter.
