Vigil services for Evelyn Brown were held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 19, in the Savage Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, at St. Matthews Catholic Church with Father Charles White, Celebrant.
Evelyn Margaret Page Brown was born August 27, 1939 in Williston, ND, the daughter of Martin and Alice (Holbrook) Page, and died February 15, 1992 in the Clinton Regional Hospital at the age of 52.
Evelyn's family moved to Minnesota in 1948 and Evelyn graduated from high school in St. Clair Minnesota in 1957. She married Kenneth M. Brown on January 21, 1961 in Mankato, MN. They moved to Elk City Oklahoma in 1977. Mrs. Brown worked at the Modern Laundry for seven years and at McDonalds since 1985. She was a member of the St. Matthews Catholic Church, and she loved going camping with her family.
Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband Kenneth of the Elk City home; her children: Marion Brown and his wife Rhonda of Denver, CO, Cindy Compton and her husband Curtis, Jeff Brown and his wife Catrina, and Mike and Pam Brown; all of Elk City; nine grandchildren: Joshua, Christa, and Dustin Compton, Jesse and Ashley Brown, and Sabrina, Britne, Justin and Lana Brown; four brothers: Orville and Ronald Page, both of Spokane, WA, Fritz Page of Janesville, MN, and Arden Page of Hastings, MN; four sisters, Ilene Bratlien of Cheyenne, WY, Hazel Mason of Williston, ND, Joyce Kirkhart of Mankato, MN, and Charlotte Jongbloedt of New Richland, MN; several nieces and nephews and a special friend Rosella.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her father in 1968, her mother in 1990, her brother Bob on Feb 5, 1992. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Savage funeral home.
