Bloomington Claimed
by Death on Sunday
Following an illness of more than a year’s duration with complications of diseases, Mrs. A. G. Smith, 31, died at her home, 1201 North Roosevelt, at about 3 o’clock Sunday morning.
Miss Effie Nora Gardner was born Oct 11, 1896 at Villisca, Ia. About 18 years ago she came to this city and has made her home, since. She was united in marriage to O. P. Allen, March 19, 1914 in Bloomington, Ill., and to this union two children were born, Mildred, who met her death about a year ago in a automobile accident, and Earl, who survives.
Mr. Allen died eight years ago and she later married A. G. Smith in May 1922, who, with other other child Rose Marie Smith, age three, survives. She also leaves her mother, Mrs. Orpha Gardner, 1241 North Roosevelt avenue, two sisters, Mrs. L. Winstead, 608 Seminary avenue, and Mrs. Ivan Baldwin, 1201 North Roosevelt avenue, and three brothers, Earl and Fred Gardner, of Bloomington, Ill, and Kinzie Gardner of Villisca, Iowa.
She was a member of the First United Brethren church in Bloomington where funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock.
