An early day resident of Southerner Oklahoma, he was born October 28, 1870, in El Dorado, Kansas, and settled near the Lake Farm on Red River in 1878. He moved to Overbrook in the early days and married (Ruth) Corrine Sharrock, who preceded him in death in 1928.
