George & Minnie, ages 26 & 25, owned a farm in Township 5, Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory. Both were Chickasaw Indians. They had a daughter, Norma, age 2. They had been married 1 year; the first marriage for both; Minnie had given birth to one child. George farmed to support them. Several boarders were living with them who helped George with farm work.

Minnie Criner has filed suit in the district court against her husband, G.E. Criner, for divorce. She alleges in her petition that they were married October 21, 1891 and that about five years ago he abandoned and deserted her; that they have three children, two of whom are of age and one a minor. She asks for the custody of the minor child and $12.50 per month for her support. A stipulation is filed with the petition whereby the defendant waives the issuing and process of summons and consents that judgment may be entered as prayed for."

A wedding of much interest which came as a surprise to their many friends was that of Miss Norman Criner of this city to Roy L. Joffliff of Wilson, Okla., which was solemnized Friday, January 23, in Denton, Texas.

The bride wore an ensemble suit of dark blue charmene with harmonizing accessories of black and sand.

Mrs. Joffliff is the daughter of Mrs. Minnie D. Criner of 845 Douglas Boulevard. She was reared in Ardmore and received her education in the city schools. She is a young woman of charming personality and has a host of friends.

Mrs. Joffliff is well known in the business and social activities of Wilson. After several days spent in Dallas and other points in southern Texas, Mr. and Mrs. Joffliff will be at home to their friends at 900 South Sixth street, Wilson, Okla."

The couple will live in Oklahoma City where Price is state agent for the Oklahoma Health and Accident Insurance company. Price was formerly in charge of the company's territory in this district."

Announcement is made of the marriage of Miss Mary Jack Criner and Jack Wilkes which took place Thursday evening at Madill with Rev. Robert A. Dale of the Baptist church reading the service. The couple was attended by Monroe Galt of this city.

Mrs. Wilkes is a daughter of Mrs. Minnie Criner, 941 C street southeast, and Mr. Wilkes is the son of Mrs. Effie Wilkes, 333 C street northwest. Both were graduated from the Ardmore high-school. Mr. Wilkes attended Oklahoma A. and M. college and now is with the Industrial Finance company of Little Rock, Ark. where he will be joined in a month by Mrs. Wilkes. Mrs. Wilkes has been with Rice's Diamond shop for two years."

Jack Wilkes, son of Mrs. Effie Wilkes, has been transferred from Little rock, Ark., to Shawnee, by the loan and investment company with whom he connected. He has been assigned the task of establishing a branch office in Shawnee. Mrs. Wilkes is visiting her mother, Mrs. Minnie Criner, while Wilkes is completing work of organization at Shawnee. Mrs. Wilkes was formerly Miss Mary Jack Criner of Ardmore.

Norma's sister, Sallie J. Price, 36 & Sallie's daughter, Wand G. Price, age 9, also lived with her. Norma & Sallie were both divorced.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Bettes Funeral Chapel for Mrs. Minnie Dell Criner of 845 Douglas Blvd., who died Saturday at her home after a long illness.

A resident of the county 73 years, Mrs. Criner was born Sept. 17, 1874, at Blakesburg, Iowa. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.S. McAlister, who settled at Overbrook in 1884.

She was married to George A.(E.) Criner in 1891 and was a member of the Carter Ave. Methodist Church.

Surviving are three children, Mrs. Bill Smithers and Mrs. Norma Jalliff, both of Ardmore, and Mrs. Jack Wilkes of Fort Worth; two sisters, Mrs. Vina Douglas and C.P. Hollingsworth, both of Ardmore; a brother, Roy McAlester of Ardmore; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Rev. Boyd Hallum will officiate, assisted by Rev. B.O. Baird. Bearers will be Stephen A. Douglas Cr., Dale Trotter, Oscar Trotter, Leonard Williams, Stinnett Jones and Tom Wilkes Sr. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery."

A native of Iowa she had lived in this community since 1884. She was a member of the Carter Avenue Methodist Church.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Bill Smithers, and Mrs. Norma Jalliff, Ardmore, and Mrs. Jack Wilkes, Fort Worth, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. A.E. Douglas and Mrs. C.P. Hollingsworth; a brother, Roy McAlister, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was the widow of George E. Criner.

Her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. J.S. McAlister, settled at Overbrook in 1884.

The Rev. Boen Halum was assisted in the services by the Rev. B.O. Baird. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Assisting were Stephen A. Douglas, Dale Trotter, Oscar Trotter, Leonard Williams, Stinnett Jones and Tom Wilkes."
