Funeral services for Edith Hobbs, 78, lifelong resident of Vivian were held December 2, 1976 with the Reverend Terry Douglas of Morningside Baptist Church of Shreveport officiating.
Mrs. Hobbs died at the Hospitality Care Center in Shreveport after a lengthy illness. She was a member of the Mount Gilead Baptist Church of Vivian.
Survivors include her step father; J. W. Massey; Six Sons, M. E. Hobbs of Dewyville, Texas, Marvin and Jack Hobbs, both of Vivian, E. E. Hobbs, Jr. of Torrence, CA, Newton Hobbs of Anchorage, AL and Larry P. Hobbs of Phoenix, AZ; Six Daughters, Mrs. Eva Chappell of Shreveport, LA, Mrs. Betty Jane Blackwell of Arlington, VA, Mrs. Annie D. Bryan of McKeesport, PA, Mrs. Pet Barron and Mrs. Rose Butland both of Carson, CA, Mrs. Billie Ruth Guy of Hahnville, LA; Two Sisters, Mrs. Anna Louise Taylor of Shreveport and Mrs. Frances Ellen Smith of Vivian; Two Brothers, King Walter Bedingfield of Baytown, Texas and Woodrow Massey of Vivian; 34 Grandchildren and 31 Great Grandchildren.
Pallbearers are her grandsons.
