Mrs. B. A. Davis Dies After Illness

Mrs. Minnie F. Davis, 84, early day resident of this city, passed away in Norman Sunday afternoon. She had been in failing health for some time and her death was due to natural causes.

Services were at the Presbyterian church at 3 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by Rev. Alan Darling, assisted by Rev. M. Whittington. Interment in Green Hill cemetery with Bahner funeral home in charge.

Bearers of the body were: O C. Francis, P. T. Francis, G. H. Pierce, C. Strickland, D. B. Cone and Fay L. Crossett.

Born in Warren county, Indiana, Oct. 9, 1867, Mrs. Davis resided in Davis, Indian Territory, a number of years, later living in Oklahoma City, Gainesville and Galveston, Texas. The past several months she had made her home with her sister, Mrs. Cora Butz in this city. She was a member of the Christian church and charter member of the Eastern Star chapter at Davis.

Her husband, Ben A. Davis, to whom she was married in Hillsboro, Tex., Nov. 20, 1887, passed away in Galveston Dec. 22, 1930.

She is survived by a stepson, Clifford Davis, Galveston; two sisters, Mrs. Cora Butz, Davis, and Mrs. Henry Sharp Corinth, Miss.; one brother, Clarence A. Wright, Corona, Calif.

Mrs. J. G. Chapman and Mrs. Garland Dodson of this city are nieces.

Out of town relatives and friends attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Jess Cunningham, Gainesville; Mrs. Dunn, Miss Brazilia Dunn and Mrs. Wheat, all of Wapanucka, Okla.; and Mr. and Mrs. Harley Outler, Sulphur.

A strange coincidence in connection with Mrs. Davis; death became known when a telegram was received announcing the death of one of her brothers, C. M. Wright at Bakersfield, Calif. He died Sunday night at 10 oclock, just six hours after his sister's death. He fell and broke his arm and the shock caused his death, the message informed.
