Janurary 18, 1933.)

HOME

Has been a long time ago, and I can remember so well
When our father first built the Wright Hotel.
Checotah was new then, and a happy bunch were we
That was the summer of 1893.

'Tis sad the old hotel had to burn down
When was first built, was the pride of the town.
It was the last of our old home to you and me.
We knew its history even to each tree.

It with stood the storms and all kinds of weather.
We were both young once and pioneered together.
The memories of this place hold to me strong
For its walls once sheltered some loved ones that are gone.

The ones that are left, some are far, far apart
We will be together some day with these dear ones of our heart."
