John A. Pfost, 62, Pioneer Resident, Dies at Meridian

MERIDIAN--John A. Pfost, 62, prominent Meridian farmer, died at his home here early Saturday evening following a six months illness. Death was caused by heart disease. He had been a resident of Idaho since 1878 and was prominent in Boise valley farming activities for a great many years.

Pfost is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rebecca Pfost, three daughters Mrs. Hazel Pollar of Star, Mrs. Bernice Riddle of Meridian and Miss Aldene Pfost at the home, a son Albert Pfost, Los Angeles, by two sisters, Mrs. Mary Burns of Meridian and Mrs. C. B. Burns of Nampa, two brothers, Emmitt Pfost, state commissioner of law enforcement and Lee Pfost, both of Boise, and two half brothers, Merle Pfost of Boise and Robert Pfost of Meridian.

The body is at the Mateer funeral parlors in Meridian. Relatives announced Saturday evening that funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon from the Methodist church in Meridian.
