John Morgan Beshears, 92, 1140 Piney Woods Road, Nancy, died suddenly Friday at his residence.

He was born in the Naomi community December 12, 1896, to the late Phalous and Jennie Smith Beshears. He was a retired farmer and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Bert Beshears, Nancy; three daughters, Sethel Weaver, Somerset, Audene Norfleet, Miamisburg, Ohio, and Sylvia Correll, Frazer; five sisters, Beulah Coner, Nancy, Nellie Moyers, Oxford, Indiana, Leva Ard, Ement, Illinois, and Lula Merrick and Ruth Gossett, both of Somerset; 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Iva Ard Beshears, whom he married January 25, 1917, at Naomi; four children, Herford, Harold and Wadelyn Beshears and Aliene Sturgill; five brothers, Jim, Buckner, Carl, Ernest and Hugh Frank Beshears; and four sisters, Ceola Johnson, Myrtle Tarter, Mollie Bishop and Jennie Beshears.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Pulaski Funeral Home with the Revs. Lloyd Williamson and Clyde Strunk officiating.

Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
