GREENFIELD RESIDENT DIES
William Kern Succumbs to a Stroke of Paralysis at the Age of 60 years.
William Kern died on Thursday at his home in the town of Greenfield after an illness extending over several months. He was taken critically ill last Saturday and paralysis caused his death. He had been in poor health for some months.
He was born in Waukesha county, Nov. 9, 1848, the same year that Wisconsin became a state. He was aged 60 years, 6 months and 4 days.
He had resided in Sauk county for 33 years, held some town offices and was a member of the German Lutheran church which is near to his home in Greenfield.
Besides a widow the following sons and daughters survive:
Edward Kern, Waukesha.
Albert Kern, Greenfield.
Theodore Kern, Greenfield.
Mrs. Edward Rooney, Fairfield.
Mrs. Adam Weiland, Greenfield.
Mrs. G. R. Marquardt, Baraboo.
Miss Laura Kern, Greenfield.
