Born May 31, 1868 at Charlesburg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Pauly, she was married to Math Karls in Charlesburg 45 years ago. She had resided in Marytown for 36 years.
Surviving are three sons, 4 daughters, including Mrs. Henry Daun of Jericho, Mrs. Norbert Schmitz of Marytown, Joe Karls of Kiel, Mrs. Theodore Nicolay of New Holstein, Herman Karls residing on the homestead and Mrs. Gilbert Anhalt of Kiel. A son, Aloysius, preceded her in death 28 years ago. There are 22 grandchildren.
Mrs. Karls was a member of the Christian Mother's society of St. Mary's church.
