Mr. John Thomas Galbreath, Jr., age 87, of Vidalia, died late Wednesday evening, February 28, 1996 in the Meadows Regional Medical Center of Vidalia after an extended illness.

Mr. Galbreath was a native of Toombs County, had lived in Midway some 20 years, returning to Toombs County in 1995. Mr. Galbreath was retired from the City of Brunswick Water Dept. and was a member of the Midway Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Curtis Galbreath, Midway and Larry Galbreath, Richmond Hill; two daughters, Daisy Morris, Lyons and Gail Smith, Brunswick; two brothers, Dan Galbreath and Sam Galbreath, Vidalia; four sisters, Pearl Whitfield and Margarette Morrison, Vidalia, Martha Nell Austin, Burlington, West Virginia, and Elizabeth Ruis, Jacksonville, FL; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Galbreath were held Saturday afternoon, March 2, 1996 at 2:00 from the New Corinth Baptist Church with the pastor, Rev. Bob Corley officiating. Committal service and interment followed at 4:30 from the Hinesville Cemetery.

Pallbearers were H.C. Whitfield, Greg Albert, Richard Galbreath, James T. Galbreath, Everette Booth, and Tim Grimsley. Ronnie L. Stewart Funeral Service of Vidalia was in charge of arrangements.
