FINAL RITES HELD RECENTLY FOR EX-RESIDENT

Funeral services were held February 22 in Stockton, California for David A. Hislop, 78, who is a brother to Nellie Allen of Maeser.

Mr. Hislop who was a former resident of Vernal died at his home following a short illness. He was born at Dry Fork September 3, 1882, a son of George W. and Phoebe Bingham Hislop. He married Maude Cooper in 1900 in Vernal. She preceded him in death in 1937. He later remarried.

Survivors include his widow, Lilly Hislop, son and daughters, John Martin Hislop, Altamont; Mrs. Blaine Dublin, Moses Lake, Washington; Mrs. Paul Beard, Coalville; stepdaughters, Mrs. Paul Hansen, Stockton, California; Mrs. Vernon Sandall, West Covina, California; brother, George T. Hislop, Chico, California; sisters, Jessie Thomas, Golden, Colorado; Nellie Allen, Vernal; 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Burial was in the Cherokee Cemetery in Stockton, California. Mrs. Allen of Vernal and Mr. and Mrs. John Martin Hislop and son Paul of Altamont attended the services. Mrs. Allen remained in California for three weeks and visited her son and daughter-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Mark D. Allen and family in Garden Grove, California.
