Funeral services were held Monday at 1 p.m. in Vernal Third Ward Chapel for Warren Hislop, 65, well-known livestockman who died Friday Morning in a Salt Lake hospital after an illness. Harvey Madsen conducted the services.
Prayer at the mortuary was by Lawrence Caldwell. Opening song, "Sometime We'll Understand," was sung by Byron Goodrich, Elizabeth Sowards, Laurence Cooper and Alice Woolley accompanied by Genee Tyler, Opening prayer was offered by Harmon S. Sowrads.
"Beyond the Sunset," was sung by Dorothy Luck and Daun Huber accompanied by Rex Taylor, President. Archie Johnson spoke of his close friendship with Mr. Hislop. The closing song, "Going Home," was sung by Laurence Cooper, accompanied by Genee Tyler.
Interment was in Vernal Memorial Park Cemetery and dedication of the grave was by Joseph Price. Military services were also held at graveside under the direction of the American Legion.
Pallbearers were Myron Hacking, Glen Allen, Baline Caldwell, Gordon Hacking, Howard Allen and George Lee.
Mr. Hislop was born March 9, 1891, in Vernal to George W.and Phoebe Bingham Hislop. He married Vada Workman December 1, 1920, in Vernal. He lived in Vernal all of his life. Mr. Hislop was also a veteran of World War I.
Survivors include a son and two daughter, Clayton Hislop, Mrs. Blaine (Marcheta) Caldwell and Mrs. George (Mona Rae) Lee, all of Vernal; nine grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters, George T. Chico, California; David, Stockton, California; Mrs. Bert (Jessie) Thomas, Golden, Colorado; and Mrs. Marion (Nellie) Allen of Vernal.
