LOUIS WESLEY MOORE

Louis Wesley Moore, son of William and Eliza Moore, was born in Lucas county, Iowa, near Chariton on Feb. 14, 1870, and died on Saturday, June 11, 1955. He was married on Dec. 12, 1900, to Daisy Brown and three years later moved to the family home northeast of Chariton. There they lived together a long and useful life, terminated by her passing on Jan. 17, 1944.

During the early part of their married life their church home was the Central Christian church. To them were born three children - Corwin, Venezuela, S.A.; Margaret Wallace, Chariton; Louise Curtis, Cincinnati, Ohio.

His passing marks the first break in family of seven children. Surviving are four brothers and two sisters - Mrs. Elma Whitten, Omaha, Nebr.; Mrs. Elda Prather, Chariton; Leslie, Chariton; Clarence, Dunlap, Iowa; Roy, Omaha, Nebr.; and Harry of Osceola, Ia. He leaves also seven grandchildren, Corrinne Rice, Jeanette Ament and Norma Pittman of Houston, Tex, Warren and Hugh Wallace of Chariton, Janice Curtis Sigmund of Columbus, Ga., and Conrad Curtis of Chicago, Ill., ten great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Final rites were conducted by the Rev. A. E. Beals at the Beardsley funeral home at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, and burial was at the Oxford cemetery.
