MRS. DAISY PEARL MOORE

Daisy Pearl Moore, daughter (granddaughter) of James and Elvira Brown, was born in Lucas county, Iowa, near Chariton on Oct. 12, 1871, and departed this life at her home in Lincoln township on Monday, Jan. 17, 1944, at the age of 72 years, 3 months and 5 days.

On December 12, 1900, she was married to Wesley Moore. To this union were born three children.

She was converted and united with the Christian church at an early age. Her faith sustained her through the many trials of life. She expressed her readiness to depart from this life yet would have been glad to stay for yet a while, with her family.

She had lived her entire married life in Lucas county, the last 38 of which were spent on the farm five miles northeast of Chariton.

In August, 1942, she suffered a stroke of paralysis, from which she never recovered and for the past 17 months has been confined to her bed most of the time. She was a kind neighbor, a loving wife and mother and patient in her illness.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Wesley Moore, one son, Corwin T. Moore, of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Wallace, of Chariton, and Mrs. Louise M. Curtis, of Cincinnati, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Corrine Rice, Norma Moore of Houston, Texas; Jeanette Rearden, of Roswell, N. Mex.; Janice Louise Curtis and Conrad Moore Curtis, of Cincinnati, Ohio; Warren Lewis Wallace and Hugh Dean Wallace, of Chariton; and one great grandson, Richard Rice. An infant grandson, Clayton Curtis, and five brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.

On January 13 she became critically ill and slept peacefully away on Jan. 17.

She will be missed greatly by her family and friends of the community. We have one hope that is eternal, we may not bring her back to us, but we may go to her.

Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Virgil Swanson, were held at 2:00 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Beardsley funeral home, and burial was in the Oxford cemetery.

Note: Daisy was raised by her paternal grandparents as their own daughter.
