THE CHARITON LEADER

Tuesday, January 11, 1966
MOORE - Leslie Emberson Moore, the son of William Moore and Eliza Threlkeld, was born December 16, 1871 in Lucas county, Iowa, on the farm he still owned and lived on all his life except for seven years. He departed this life at the Memorial Hospital in Chariton, Iowa on December 29, 1965, at the age of 94 years and 13 days.
He was united in marriage to Jessie Harp on January 17, 1897. To this union five children were born: Everett of Chariton; Raymond of Cameron, Mo.; Mrs. Carl (Stella) Goltry of Russell; Mrs. Paul (Audrey) Robison of Chariton; and Dorothy Johnson, deceased.
He was proceded in death by his wife in 1945, one daughter, Dorothy Johnson, one grandson, his parents, two sisters and three brothers.
Besides his children he is survived by nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and one brother, Harry Moore of Osceola.
He was a devoted and loving husband, father, neighbor and friend to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by all who are left to mourn his passing.
Services were held Friday, December 31, 1965 at 1 p.m., at the Beardsley-Fielding Funeral Home with Pastor John Bauserman officiating. Interment was at the Chariton Cemetery.
