Funeral services for Robert S. (Bob) Meriwether, former Pensacola resident who died June 11 in Memphis, were held Monday in Mobile.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary McDavid Meriwether, Mobile; two daughters, Mrs. J. A. Fritts of Houston, Texas, and Miss Mary Meriwether of Mobile; two sons, Robert S. Meriwether, Jr., and David Meriwether, U.S. Navy; four brothers, G. A. Meriwether and J. H. Meriwether of Mobile; G. K. and J. F. Meriwether of Montgomery, Ala.; three sisters, Mrs. Marshall Green and Mrs. A. A. Poindexter of Montgomery, Ala., and Mrs. A.A. Williams of Ft. Deposit, Ala., and other relatives.
Active pallbearers were Charles Carter, Horace Sims, P.T. Mertel, Cary Snellgrove, T.C. Jarman and Ronald Cox.
Honorary pallbearers were H.K. Waller, Chester Redmond, H. C. Sarrs, Jack Richey, William Barber, J. E. New, Comdr. A.B. Meriwether, R. A. Barns and J. H. Flanagan.

Robert S. Meriwether, of Mobile, a former resident of Montgomery, died Friday night in a Memphis, Tenn. Hospital.
He was a member of the Presbyterian church here and was employed as a salesman form Schloss and Kahn Wholesa45575le Grocery Co. of Montgomery.
Survivors are his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Joe Fritts of Houston, Tex., and Mrs. Glen Spain of Mobile; two sons, Robert S. Meriwether, Jr., and David, both of Mobile; three sisters, Mrs. Allen Poindexter of Montgomery, Mrs. Marshall Green of Hope Hull, and Mrs. A.A. Williams of Ft. Deposit; four brothers, Albert and James H. Meriwether ob Mobile, Gordon and Joe of Montgomery.
The body is being shipped to Mobile for funeral and burial.

Robert S. Meriwether, of 67 Glenwood St., died Friday night in a Memphis, Tenn. Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Meriwether was president of the Hill Tobacco Co. in Mobile and was a member of the Government St. Presbyterian Church and the Chamber of Commerce. He was 56 years old.
Survivors are his widow, Mary McDavid Meriwether; two daughters, Mrs. J. A. Fritts of Houston, Tex., and Miss Mary Meriwether, Mobile; two sons, Robert S., Jr., and David, U.S. Navy.
Funeral arrangements by Roche Funeral Home are incomplete.
